YOga Therapy
Yoga therapy is a holistic approach to wellness that integrates the principles and practices of yoga with modern therapeutic techniques. It is tailored to address individual needs and aims to promote healing on physical, mental, and emotional levels. Unlike a traditional yoga class, yoga therapy sessions are personalized and may include a combination of breathwork, movement, meditation, and mindfulness practices to support clients in achieving their goals. Whether you're seeking relief from chronic pain, managing stress and anxiety, improving connection to the body or navigating life transitions, yoga therapy offers a safe and supportive environment for self-exploration and healing. By fostering awareness and connection between mind, body, and spirit, yoga therapy empowers individuals to cultivate greater well-being and resilience in their lives.
Interoceptive Therapy & Somatic Psychotherapy
Embody Space offers holistic body based therapy sessions that utilise a range of approaches: Somatic Psychotherapy, Yoga Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing. Individuals may choose to engage in this type of therapy to complement their talking therapy sessions. Approaching healing from both a psychological and body based approach can help people find connection to all parts of the self.
Interoceptive therapy is a form of therapeutic intervention that focuses on increasing one's awareness and understanding of internal bodily sensations. This approach is rooted in the idea that bodily sensations, such as heartbeat, breathing, and muscle tension, play a significant role in emotions and overall well-being. By paying attention to these sensations, individuals can develop a deeper connection with their bodies and gain insight into the ways their emotions and stress manifest physically.
Somatic psychotherapy is an approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes the integration of the mind and body in the therapeutic process. The term "somatic" refers to the body, and this form of therapy recognizes the importance of the body in understanding and healing psychological issues. Somatic psychotherapy acknowledges the interconnectedness of physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, and behaviour.
